Twist Creative Fights The ‘Brain Drain’ Importing Talent And Clients
Ohio City-based design consultancy nabs designer from Idaho, a prestigious arts client from NYC and Cleveland’s own visionary developer
CLEVELAND (April 20, 2007) - Twist Creative continues to add to its creative talent and clientele. Early this month, Dylan Todd joined the staff as junior designer - relocating from Rexburg, Idaho to Lakewood, Ohio - for the position at Twist. Additionally, Stark Enterprises, a premier developer of lifestyle centers including Crocker Park in Westlake and ETON Chagrin Boulevard, and a New York City musical organization, the Orchestraof St. Luke’s, join the design firm’s list of ever-impressive names.
“We’re excited to pull talent in from as far away as Idaho,” says President Michael Ozan. Todd learned of the position via a posting on www.aiga.org, a national ’design’ organization of which Twist is a member. “It’s a testament to the quality of work we produce and creative services we are committed to continually providing to clients at all levels,” comments Michael. “We received more than 75 inquiries regarding the position from all over the country,” he adds. Twist Creative employs full and part-time designers; however, the staff with Todd’s announcement now numbers 11 - perfect to serve an expanding client list including newcomers Stark Enterprises and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
For Stark Enterprises, Twist will be engaged in everything from advertising creative services to Web and trade show development. “The main thrust of our work, however, will be creating a branded experience that is unique for the Eton Chagrin Boulevard boutique mall concept,” says Michael. Twist’s previous work for Red {an orchestra} is what captured the attention of Stark Enterprises executives and prompted a meeting.
A one-year engagement, for the Orchestra of St. Luke’s Twist will focus on rebuilding the organization’s season marketing strategy, development materials and Web presence. “More than 80 concerts a year are held at Carnegie Hall,” says Michael, “which draw an incredibly diverse audience of classical music lovers. This combined with two other venues that draw more than 100,000 people, St. Luke’s is missing out on opportunities to raise funds among supporters. We’re going to help them capitalize on these and other fundraising opportunities.”
Todd will focus on providing design and execution support to renowned designer and TWIST founder Connie Ozan.
Todd is a 2006 graduate of Brigham Young University (BYU) in Rexburg, Idaho, and holds a bachelor of fine arts degree with an emphasis in graphic design. “Dylan brings a strong educational background in design and impressive portfolio to us,” says Connie. “He’s the prefect addition to our staff.” While attending BYU, Todd served as the lead designer for the University’s Activities Commission - a position he held from December 2005 through April - conceptualizing and producing posters and other advertising for on-campus events and communicating with the production manager to ensure satisfaction of work quality and deadlines.
Todd resides in Lakewood with his wife and two children.
