“Beautiful Notes” To Support New York City's Orchestra Of St. Luke's
Cleveland's Twist Creative creates innovative project to fund marketing efforts of New York's legendary chamber orchestra
CLEVELAND (July 29, 2008) - New York City's Orchestra of St. Luke's is making its “Beautiful Notes” available to patrons, donors and general lovers of the genre with a perfectly packaged set of stationery - eight blank note cards with matching envelopes. Sales of “Beautiful Notes”, the project and gift set designed by Cleveland's Twist Creative, will be used to support ongoing marketing efforts of the organization.
“Times are tough, particularly for arts organizations,” says Michael Ozan, president and creative director, Twist. “You're forced to get especially creative when it comes helping the organization raise money to continue your services.”
Based in Cleveland, TWIST is an independent design practice with a strong commitment to art and culture. The firm is best known locally for its creative relationship to Red {an orchestra} - no longer a classical option for Cleveland music lovers. “The loss of Red made us realize that we had to come up with a creative campaign to support the marketing efforts of our arts clients,” says Ozan, “and, whatever we came up with had to raise money on an ongoing basis.”
For the Orchestra of St. Luke's, Twist designed (pro bono) the Beautiful Notes Project. No cost was incurred by St. Luke's for concept, design or production according to Ozan; printing is recovered in the price per package, $22 (not including shipping).
The design of this year's “Beautiful Notes” is in honor of Marianne Lockwood, founder of the Orchestra and former president. Each note card is adorned with a floral pattern in line art form - the background being either a muted shade of green or blue. The inside is white and purposely left blank for personalization. Envelopes are complementary to both hues in rich chocolate.
Twist plans to duplicate the Project for several arts organizations locally - starting with the Cleveland International Film Festival. “It's a strong concept,” says Ozan, “and easy to implement.”
Since launching the Project in the New York market earlier this year, sales of St. Luke's “Beautiful Notes” have been positive.
The stationery set can be purchased at www.beautifulnotesproject.com for $22, plus shipping.
